Course description
They're already training with us!
Specialist vs. Manager
As a new manager, you'll have different responsibilities to those you had before. In particular, you'll need to adopt a more strategic viewpoint and make room for your team. During this training course, we'll teach you the differences between the functions of a specialist and those of a manager, so that you can make the most of your new role.
Management 3.0
The world of work is constantly evolving, and managerial innovations need to be quickly assimilated by new managers. During this training course, we will introduce you to the latest innovations in management, to give you the best practices on the market.
Mourning the loss of expertise
To become an effective manager, you need to learn how to be a team leader and mourn the loss of your former position as a specialist. This is a difficult transition, as you have been applying your expertise on a daily basis for many years. To thrive in your new role, you'll need to learn new skills and focus on delegation. During this training course, we'll give you effective advice on how to move into your new role with confidence.
Micromanagement
One of the most common pitfalls of new managers is micromanagement. Although generally well-intentioned, i.e. to ensure the success of a project or team, micromanagement behaviors can turn out to be very harmful over time. This training course will enable you to assess yourself on this issue and become aware of your harmful behaviors. Using concrete tips, we'll guide you towards the best way to minimize micromanagement.
Manager's roles
You may have an idea of the roles of managers, but what are they really? Drawing on the work of Henry Mintzberg, we'll introduce you to the 10 roles of the manager. You will be asked to reflect on the time you spend on these roles, and on the added value of devoting more time to each of them. By becoming aware of everything you should be doing as a manager, you'll be better equipped to tackle the many exciting challenges that await you in your new role.
Motivating my team
To help your team succeed, it's essential to know what motivates each individual. As part of this training course, you will first be asked to reflect on your own motivating factors, before carrying out the same exercise for your team. C3pH will also introduce you to an essential coaching tool: the Engagement Radar. This tool will enable you to better target the actions you need to take to engage all team members in achieving your organization's mission.
Get to know yourself better and develop your leadership skills
The transition from specialist to manager requires introspection. The new manager must develop the human skills, often referred to as soft-skills, that will enable him/her to rally and mobilize team members to achieve the objectives set by the organization. During this training course, we'll give you the keys you need to make a relevant introspection and bring out your new leadership role.
For many employees, managers and executives, the agenda is at the heart of professional life. During this training course, we'll be giving you practical tips and best practices for better organizing your agenda and optimizing your time management.
